Effective October 1, 2009, code 779.3, Disorder of stomach function and feeding problems in newborn, has been expanded to differentiate between feeding problems (779.31), bilious vomiting (779.32), other vomiting (779.33), and failure to thrive (779.34) in the newborn. Vomiting is a very nonspecific complaint which can be due to many different conditions.
