In Coding Clinic, Third Quarter 2025, page 11, code J45.41, Moderate persistent asthma with (acute) exacerbation, was provided to identify that the patient had status asthmaticus. However, because the question stated that the patient had persistent status asthmaticus, the code should have been J45.42, Moderate persistent asthma with status asthmaticus.
