July 2012 page 8 Collagenase Injection: Dupuytren's Contracture (20527, 26341) Dupuytren's contracture is a painless thickening of connective tissue beneath the palm and fingers (see Figure 1). One or more small nodules may form under the skin, eventually becoming tough bands of tissue resulting in a thick cord (collection of the thickened connective tissue), which can cause one or more finger(s) to bend (flex) toward the palm.
