February 2004 page 3 Early Release of Vaccine Codes The appearance of these vaccine codes on the AMAWeb site is a special exemption to allow the codes to be available during the flu season. The “early release” of Category I vaccine codes prior to the publication of the CPT 2004 book was approved by the CPT Editorial Panel. The panel agreed that in response to public health issues, vaccine code(s) shall be made available through a bi-annual electronic release in January and July to facilitate immunization reporting.
