CLINICAL EXAMPLE 1 Myocardial Metabolic Evaluation PET/CT Study CLINICAL HISTORY A 67-year-old male with history of cardiac sarcoid with worsening left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and recurrent episodes of ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation. Assess for progression of sarcoidosis. TECHNIQUE A positron emission tomography (PET) scan using fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) imaging was performed with nondiagnostic low-dose computed tomography (CT) (for attenuation correction and localization only) from the upper thorax through the diaphragms.
