Question
If a Mohs surgery defect is repaired
with a purse string suture, how should it be
reported?
AMA Comment
Typically, this would require a
simple repair (codes 12001-12018). If, however,
extensive instrumentation or undermining is
needed, intermediate repair may be reported
(codes 12031-12057).
