Multiple neuroplasty procedures of the bilateral dorsal occipital nerve system, bilateral lesser occipital nerve system, and avulsion of atretic nerves of the dorsal occipital nerve system are performed in a single operative session. Would it be appropriate to report code 64722 for these procedures, and if so, what is the intent and appropriate use of code 64722? In addition, would it be appropriate to append modifier 50?
