Code Prosthetic Devices,” each contain an error
regarding the range of spinal instrumentation
modifier 51, Multiple procedures, and exempt
codes 22840-22855.
The correct range of codes is 22840-22848 and
22851, which is also stated in the Principles of
CPT Coding, Third Edition. The spinal instrumentation
