July 2019 page 7 Coding Update: Drug-Eluting Sinus Implants (31237, 31299) From 2016 through 2018, endoscopic placement of a drug-eluting implant into the ethmoid sinus was reported with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) Category III codes 0406T and 0407T. Code 0406T was reported when the procedure was performed as a stand-alone service, and code 0407T was reported when the procedure was performed during the same session as a biopsy, polypectomy, or most typically, debridement involving the ethmoid sinus.
