October 2020 page 8 New Molecular Testing Code for Prostate Cancer In the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2020 code set, a new Category I code (81542) was established in the Multianalyte Assays with Algorithmic Analyses (MAAA) subsection to report mRNA analysis of 22 content genes, including profiling and creation of a calculated risk score for prostate cancer metastasis (Decipher® Prostate test).
