2018 salary survey: Specialties — the more you know, the more you earn

Most survey respondents report that they juggle a number of specialties on a daily basis. The vast majority — 96% — reported that they handle at least two specialties. The average number of specialties is nine. And a comparison of the number of specialties to annual salary shows a direct positive correlation. Review the chart “Specialties and average salary, 2017,” and if your salary is below average for the number of specialties you cover, use the chart during your next salary review.
