Can code 68200 be reported in
addition to code 67038 if a patient receives an antibiotic
injection into the subconjunctival space at the same operative session?
AMA Comment
The subconjunctival injection would be included in the
procedure described by code 67038, Vitrectomy, mechanical, pars
plana approach; with epiretinal membrane stripping. Therefore, code 68200, Subconjunctival injection, should not be reported in addition
to code 67038 for the subconjunctival injection performed during
the vitrectomy procedure.
