FAQ of the week: How much can I charge for Medical Record fees?

Find-A-Code provides you with links to medical Record Fees and charges by state.  The links provided are state statutes that regulate the allowable copy charges that can be charged by Physicians, Facilities, etc.  HIPAA  45 CFR 164.524(c) states you can charge a "reasonable" cost-based fee for medical Records.  To access this information go to the "Info" tab (at the top left of the page), choose "Healthcare Legislation," then on the next page choose "Medical Record Fees by State."
