January 2003 page 22 Coding Clarification:Reporting Dialysis Services Codes Revisited In the May 2002 issue of CPT Assistant, a coding brief was published concerning the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Services codes (90918-90925) and the hemodialysis codes (90935-90940). In the coding brief we stated that if ESRD-related services are interrupted during the monthly cycle, then the daily outpatient ESRD services codes (90922-90925) should be reported for each date that the ESRD-related services are rendered in the outpatient setting during that month.
