September 2012 page 9 Coding Clarification: Noninvasive Vascular Diagnostic Studies In the June 2012 issue of the CPT Assistant (page 16), the noninvasive vascular diagnostic study answer indicated the use of CPT code 99199, Unlisted special service, procedure or report, in the event no ankle brachial index (ABI) is performed in addition to the transcutaneous oxygen tension measurement (TCOM).
