April 2015 page 7 Coding Update: Total Disc Arthroplasty (22856, 22858, 0375T) Effective January 1, 2015, changes were made to Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes that report the performance of cervical total disc arthroplasty (artificial disc). Category I code 22856 was revised editorially (ie, a semicolon was added), and the code is now a parent code. Add-on code 22858, which may be reported in addition to code 22856, was created to report the performance of cervical total disc arthroplasty at a second level. Related to this change, Category III code 0092T for each additional interspace has been deleted...
