Answer: In general, reporting CPT code 19380 is rather straightforward. After a breast has been reconstructed, revision may be required. For example, if a woman who has undergone a unipedicled transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap (TRAM) for breast reconstruction presents with superolateral skin redundancy, the revision procedure to excise the redundant skin to achieve symmetry to the contralateral breast is reported with code 19380. In addition, code 19380 should only be reported once...
