June 2016 page 5 Fetal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (74712, 74713) Two new codes (74712, 74713) were added to the Radiology: Gynecological and Obstetrical subsection of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2016 code set to report fetal (including placental) and maternal pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These new codes are distinctly different from codes 72195-72197, which are used to report MRI of only the pelvis and/or placenta, but not the fetus.
