November 2017 page 11 Erratum In the FAQ of the July 2016, CPT Assistant (page 8), the answer to the respiratory system question incorrectly recommended that modifier 50, Bilateral Procedure, be appended to code 30930, Fracture nasal inferior turbinate(s), therapeutic, when there are bilateral therapeutic fractures. It is inappropriate to report code 30930 with modifier 50 appended because code 30930 should only be reported once per session whether one or both inferior turbinates are therapeutically fractured.
