AMA Comment As indicated in the guidelines for Chemotherapy Administration, if performed to facilitate the infusion or injection, the following services are included and not separately reported: use of local anesthesia; IV start; establishment of access to an indwelling IV, subcutaneous catheter, or port; flush at conclusion of infusion; administration supplies, including standard tubing and syringes; and the preparation of chemotherapy agents.
