January 2019 pages 9-11 New Codes for Skin Biopsy (11102-11107) Important changes were made in the Integumentary System section of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2019 code set. Two skin biopsy codes were deleted (11100, 11101) and six new codes (11102-11107) were added to provide much needed specificity for different skin biopsy techniques. In addition, new guidelines, definitions, and updated descriptions of the different techniques were added, along with new parenthetical notes that direct users to the appropriate codes based on the type of biopsy technique performed.
