December 2011 page 13 Coding Clarification: Post-Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Debridements Individualized endoscopic debridements following routine functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) provide improved long-term outcomes and may prevent future, more extensive revision procedures. While their limited use will likely suffice in the majority of cases, there are situations in which a patient may require more frequent, very long-term debridements.
