AMA Comment The service of programming the pacemaker is an integral part of the insertion procedure, and does not warrant separate coding. It would be inappropriate to code 33213 or 33213 for insertion of a pacemaker pulse generator (single chamber of dual chamber) and additionally report the pacemaker analysis codes 93731, 93732, 93734 or 93735.
