AMA Comment From a CPT coding perspective, it is appropriate to report codes 43200 and 43450 separately. Code 43450 does not include the endoscopy, therefore 43200 can be reported along with the dilation procedure. The -59 modifier should be appended to code 43200 because it is denoted as a separate procedure. You want to show that this procedure is a separate, identifiable procedure, performed independent of procedure code...
